If they expect they've made enough of a mess of things that no one outside their bunkers will have survived, why do they think the people entombed with them will let them continue on after what they've (presumably) done to destroy the world? They think it has, and that they can manage the complexity of massive systems failing, but they are wrong. They cannot predict the result of the chaos they are already unleashing, and they are just getting started. They all have bugout bunkers and multiple passports, so they are smart enough to realize that things might go sideways for them rapidly. My guess is that they think they can at least survive the destruction if their plans don't progress as quickly as hoped, and then come out on top sooner or later. Everyone needs to start thinking about how they will make sure that these people ALL pay for their treachery in full. |
