OP sent the following text as an explanation why their

The video explained would simply be a guy trying to
flip over a chair on skates and landing it only to
realize he's now a ghost and sees his actually body all
twisted and lifeless from attempting the flip.

/u/antilumin My video temporarily froze right when he's over the
chair. I thought that the video had ended and it was
quite appropriate given the title. |
/u/Nimitz4646 Going out like The Sopranos finale. |
/u/JWils411 Don't Stop Believin' |
/u/Forsaken_legion Just had to remind me of that huh. I WAS HAVING A GOOD
DAY TO MAH! |

/u/AvaryZig Hey, that's not Yamcha |
/u/ZeroLAN I don't know what this "Yamcha" is, but it sounds
disappointing |
/u/SuperluminalSquid Correct! It's Bochi from "Bochi the Rock!", one of many
series to reference Yamcha's crushing defeat. |
/u/AvaryZig Oh, I thought that was Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho |
/u/ShooterOfCanons Immediately thought of the family guy dead body too.
It's iconic! |
/u/The_Evil_Mullet Used to skim board in my 20's. Im 44 now. My son got in
to it recently and i decided to give it a go again.
Sprained my wrist. |
/u/ScubaSteve12345 Just got back from a beach trip. A couple of kids from
another family borrowed our spike ball thing and offered
us their skimboard. I used to do it when I was a
teenager and almost tried it but all I could think about
was hurting myself. |
/u/pm_me_your_psle Being 44 is not the problem. Thinking we can suddenly do
the same thing we did as a youth after not doing said
thing for decades, is the problem.
We lose muscle and mobility significantly as we age if
we don't use them. You can definitely still skim board
at 50, 60, even 70, but you need to consistently train
and practice to keep the relevant muscles strong. |
/u/Apprehensive-Pin518 yeah i mean look at tony hawk. can he board like he used
to? no. He can still board better than most people on
the planet. |
/u/secretly_opossum Yeah, at a certain point our bones and joints just don't
rebound the way they used to. |
/u/pierrotlefou Yes thank you. Age isn't the entire issue like people
think it is. You have to stay fit. I exercise regularly
in my early 40s and still do some of the shit I pulled
in my 20s and haven't had any issues. You just have to
keep on top of your health. |
/u/slgray16 You sprained your wrist picking up the skim board
walking to the beach? |
/u/The_Evil_Mullet Ok this made me laugh. |
/u/jtr99 No! Well maybe. Ok, yes. |
/u/WatWudScoobyDoo Used to smoke in my 20's. I'm 37 now. I have no son and
continue to smoke. A slight breeze might end me. |
/u/MrMojoFomo Test your strength and flexibility before you try
anything you haven't done in a while |
/u/buriedupsidedown That's brave. My dad did skateboarding with me in his
40's and skim boarding in his 50's and I didn't
understand what he was risking until now. Im just old
enough to not heal properly, but young enough that it'd
be too long of a life with a permanent injury. |
/u/BellamyDunn Got an actual laugh out of me. |
/u/fluffycowsaremagical Agreed! Couldnt seem to find a reason to laugh today but
this one genuinely hit the spot! 🤣 |
/u/AuDHDcat Found out I can't run anymore a while back.
Small context: I walk with a cane for balance.
Was walking home from work one night thinking the
incoming windstorm was far enough away that I could make
it home in time. The wind started picking up when I was
halfway home. I tried to book it home before it got bad.
Literally couldn't get faster than a poorly attempted
jog. Got stuck behind a commercial building for at least
half an hour, crouched down in a puddle, watching tree
branches glide down the road. I now get nervous when I
hear the wind pick up. |
/u/JustsaysNah I recently decided to be more active cause I'm not
getting younger. Took surfing lessons; on the 4th lesson
injured my hip and shoulder. No surfing for me. Waited a
while and decided jogging is probably pretty easy.
Jogging for a few weeks, feeling pretty good, decided to
see how fast I can push myself. Boom, stress fracture.
Now I'm stuck in the gym doing cross training and trying
to lift weights, not even heavy, like half my previous
maxes. My shoulder is hurting again. |
/u/AuDHDcat When they said "use it or lose it" they meant it. |
/u/jtr99 Jogging on concrete/asphalt is a killer! How do you feel
about swimming? |
/u/TheDUDE1411 I'm 30 and attempted a cartwheel. I've never been
athletic but I used to do them pretty easily. Somehow it
made my entire body sore |
/u/Vladi_Sanovavich Even just doing warm exercises is enough to get me
huffing. |

/u/TonerSK This facial expression says, "Here it goes again!" |
/u/TonyAce87 Aw damn it not again |
/u/seamus205 I'm 30. I tired to do a flip on a trampoline the other
day. I fucked up my wrist and my glasses cut my face |
/u/bapekillz Ouch, I'm 31 and have never completed a back flip 😠|
/u/Alert-Principle-2726 Jumped my cousin's 7 foot fence in the back yard because
the door got stuck
Regretted it when I made it to the other side and I
couldn't recall the last time that was a struggle for
me... damn |
/u/Tofutits_Macgee I turned 46 recently and I put my neck out having a nap
last week |
/u/firedmyass I sneezed while getting out of bed last week and I
thought I dislocated a rib |
/u/Dear-Bet5344 Perfect typo there. Lol |
/u/Julio_Freeman Probably should take the glasses off before trying to
flip on a trampoline. |
/u/kai-ol I used to tumble competitively and my lower back
couldn't even withstand light jumping at 35. I've since
changed to a more physical job, so I think I'd fare
better now. |
/u/Floggered Meanwhile, Tony Hawk is still absolutely shredding and
posting on /r/oldskaters |
/u/skccsk The key to doing stuff as you age is doing stuff as you
age. |
/u/Shallnazar My cousin had a bet with his mom for when he turned 40.
He's a tall dude who was always kinda athletic, and one
of his things was jumping the full length of picnic
tables just because he could.
She bet him like 20 bucks he wouldn't be able to do
that by 40, but he shocked us all at his nieces birthday
party and could still clear it. Given what I saw though
I don't think he'll have it in him at 50, or heck even
45 lol. |
/u/BluecoTipTip98273 People talking like 40 years is the biography of a
fossil. How are you more frail than in your 20's? |
/u/daNorthernMan A lot of people don't exercise and think wasting away in
their 30s is just getting old |
/u/knoxblox Just a tiktok trend. Saw another of a guy hopping off a
counter after changing a lightbulb. The "instant death
after minor injury if you are over 30" bit still tickles
me though |
/u/jimcareyme It's effective story telling device |
/u/bionicjoey Tiktok's shitty content algorithm encourages copycats.
It seems you watch one video of a certain type and then
fills your feed with videos like that |
/u/uwibblywotm8 There are thousands of videos with different variations
of this same joke. |
/u/OrangeClyde Now that's his forever ghost outfit |
/u/SaltyLonghorn Meanwhile I was a fat chode at 20 and at 40 I'm in
better shape than I ever have been. I'd still die trying
anything but turns out walking and fork putdowns are all
the exercise you need. |
/u/Acrobatic-Bid-3559 What's the name of the music in the video? |
/u/aliaswyvernspur https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yebh32JSs9g |
/u/CakeTester Common source of injury in us decrepit types...you still
run from the bodyplan and reflexes you had when you last
did this silly thing. The body is surprised to find
itself having different proportions and often
considerably more weight. Sometimes you get away with
it, but seriously avoid anything that involves "mid air"
at any stage. Jumping off swings is a relatively common
one because your ankles have considerably more work to
do than they did back then. |
/u/Shantotto11 Bro Swayze'd himself... |
/u/zerbey In my early 40s I wanted to show off in front of my kids
and so jumped on one of their skateboards, a few seconds
later I was on the floor in pain and it took several
days to recover. Yeah, leave that shit to the younger
generation. |
/u/Icy-Understanding552 I literally did this 3 days ago. Tried to show them how
easy it was. My balance isn't what it used to be |
/u/zerbey I last rode a skateboard I was 18, weighed almost 100lb
less and was a pretty decent track runner. I'm now in my
40s with bad knees and couldn't run to save my life. I
should have known better. |
/u/WeAreLegion2814 I just hurt myself today getting out of bed, that is
all. |
/u/earthwormjimjones Turned 40 May 26th. My son said he wants to start
skateboarding (brought a tear to my eye 🥲) so I've
been taking him to the skatepark I helped get put in our
town that's close to our house. My misspelled name was
on a plaque out front along with three of my friends as
the 'Youth Skate Park Committee' before some turds
ripped it down. I fell on my left side and holy crap, my
left wrist is sprained or something because for a week
it hurts to do anything that required wrist movement.
Not broken, but definitely painful. It's been over a
week and it still hurts. Getting old blows. |
/u/BrettHullsBurner I'm starting to realize this at 35 with two kids. In
high school I used to be able to grab a 10' rim, but now
somedays I can barely touch the backboard. Coming from
someone who is 5'8" seeing my running vert go from ~38"
down to ~30" has been a sad state of affairs. |
/u/LessWeakness Funny and creative and will be copied to death by hack
fraud content creators and then posted to reddit a year
from now |
/u/AntiWork-ellog Now this is video music I can get behind |
/u/Plasticman4Life Did my Ironman at 40, and my 100K run at 42. Now 56 and
training for dual Grand Canyon crossings - hopefully in
2028, definitely by 2030 (60 for me).
Even so, if I take a few months off of a particular
exercise or activity, I lose so much more than I ever
did when I was younger. And while I can gain back lost
strength or endurance, that takes longer than ever
before, too.
So I guess I'll just have to keep going until I stop. |
/u/westcoastvibes88 Haha ok this was really well done |
/u/Kraligor I was lifting in my late teens / early twenties. Couple
of herniated disks later, in my early 40s now, not as
strong anymore, but lighter and my cardio is better than
ever.
Body weight is a huge factor is what I'm trying to say. |
/u/Bacchus_71 I started refereeing American football at age 53. The
first game I couldn't keep up with a 12 year old in full
pads on a long run downfield. I stopped refereeing
American football at age 53. |
/u/RoyBeer Literally me when I moved house and came across my old
skateboard. Instead of putting it in the basement like a
responsible adult, I tried to do an Ollie, which
resulted in a couple of weeks of pain in my tailbone and
a broken smartwatch |
/u/Hindsights20_20 I was playing water balloon fights with my kids
yesterday. I always walked away dry as a kid. Now my
joints hurt in places I'm pretty sure there are no
joints. |
/u/Mr_IsLand haha oh man I feel that - I turn 40 this year - used to
ride bmx back in the late 90s and early 00s (even got to
ride with the like of Jamie Bestwick, Kevin Robinson,
Chad Kagy, Nate Wessel and others at woodward camp,
summer 2004) - I still remember what it felt like to
effortlessly flow through a great concrete park, or air
out of a vert ramp but i'm so out of shape now I know if
I tried something and fell i'm definitely breaking
something on my body lol |
/u/TheTroon Hat fell off, he ded |
/u/sarcastic__fox Ill never understand these videos. I hope i never do. I
feel like people say this to excuse treating their body
like shit for 40 years. Ive got sever friends my exact
same age who say they cant do x y or z anymore because
of their age and how broken their body is. They never
did any sports and work desk jobs. Exactly when dod you
break your body? |
